The day portion of the event (11:00am - 4:30pm) is family focused with family entertainment, games throughout the day, and music for all to enjoy. Robert Simpson Park also features a splash pad and play structure ensuring that there is plenty of fun to be had.
As part of a pilot project for Priorpalooza 2024, the event will feature a licensed area called the Cold Bear Brewing Beer Garden for the evening portion of the event. Operating from 5:30pm - 9:00pm, enjoy a beverage from Cold Bear Brewing Co., Dunrobin Distilleries, or Farmgate Cider as Valley Mountain and The Riley New Band close out the festivities.
New this year, a licensed area will be available from 5:30-9:00pm to listen to Valley Mountain and The Riley New Band. Here's what you need to know:
David Brennan |
David Brennan is thrilled to return as host of Priorpalooza! In the past couple of years he has recorded an album with Just For Laughs and toured with the Crack Up Comedy Festival and Arctic Comedy Festival. Past hosting gigs include City of Hamilton Canada Day 150, TD Supercrawl and the Ottawa Adventure Film Festival. His horror-comedy David Brennan Exhumed won Best in Fest BYOV at the Hamilton Fringe Festival. For 12 years he was a member of the beloved sketch comedy troupe The Imponderables (Just For Laughs Montreal Gala CBC, JFL Chicago, MTV Los Angeles, Acme Theatre New York, Second City MainStage Toronto, Bill & Sons Towing web series, 5-time Canadian Comedy Award winners) He can’t wait to see all your smiling faces and do some dancing! |
Valley Concert Band |
The Valley Concert Band is based in Arnprior, Ontario. Originally formed in 1987, the Valley Concert Band has been under the baton of Keith Estabrooks since 1995. Instrumentalists from throughout the Ottawa valley attend weekly Thursday evening rehearsals in the hall of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 174, on Daniel Street. Band members’ diverse careers reflect all aspects of community life. They arebrought together by their shared love of music and their enjoyment of performing concert band music. The Director of Music and all of the musicians are volunteers. The band is always accepting new members! The Valley Concert Band performs regularly entertaining audiences of all ages and its repertoire has grown to include classical band overtures and suites, marches, show tunes, movie and TV themes, ballads, polkas, waltzes, Dixieland, pop, and rock ‘n roll. Jessica Sevier is a country music artist, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist making waves with her latest single, a nostalgic country-rock tune, “Legends of the Summer”. Since her debut single "Ghost of Tom" in 2019, Sevier’s music has been collectively streamed over 1 million times. Performing live has been a key part of growing her audience, and Sevier has shared the stage with artists including Jason McCoy and Tim and the Glory Boys, and has performed at music festivals and renowned venues including Whisky Jam in Nashville and the legendary Lee’s Palace in Toronto. The Gladsome Gentlemen is a progressive bluegrass band formed by four of Ottawa’s most seasoned pickers. Joe McDonald (guitar, vocals) Trevor Lubin (mandolin, vocals) Dylan Watts (guitar) and Duncan Reitbeock (Bass) play a mixture of original and traditional tunes with a modern gladsome twist. They are considered Ottawa’s happiest bluegrass band and when paired with their thoughtful songwriting, intricate instrumentals and virtuosic picking they are a delight to catch live.
