FamFest is an annual day of free activities hosted at the Nick Smith Centre in an effort to foster barrier free recreation. On Family Day (February 20th, 2023), various activities will be open to the public including family swims, skating, hockey game, children’s activities. A complete list of every program and timing is available on the Town’s website at www.arnprior.ca/famfest.
Following budget deliberations on February 6th, 2023, Town Council approved its 2023 Operating and Capital Budgets along with the 2022 Works-In-Progress By-Law and the 2024-2043 Long-Range Capital Forecast (LRCF). Read more in the 2023 Budget news release.
Gary Scandlan from Watson and Associates provided an overview of the proposed new Development Charges By-Law and the impacts of new provincial policies on municipal development charges. The by-law will come forward to Council for final consideration and passing on Monday, March 13th, 2023.
Town Council adopted the 2023 User Fees and Charges By-Law which outlines the user fees that will be payable for Town programs and services this year.
Council authorized the Mayor and Clerk to enter into a subdivision agreement for Phase 3 and 4A of the Marshall’s Bay Meadows subdivision. Council also received information on Bill 23 (More Homes Built Faster Act, 2022) and impacts on the Town’s planning processes.
Council proclaimed February 28th, 2023 to be “Rare Disease Day” in the Town of Arnprior and directed that the Arnprior and District Museum clock tower be illuminated in blue, green, pink and purple on February 28th in recognition of the day.
