The Town of Arnprior issues licences to conduct and manage lottery schemes for charitable or religious purposes.
A lottery is a scheme where tickets are sold for a chance to win a prize. Promotional draws where there is no purchase necessary are not considered lotteries.
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is responsible for lottery licensing in the province. Municipalities are partners with the AGCO. The Town of Arnprior has the authority to issue licences to eligible charities for many lottery events conducted in our community, including:
Bingo Licences |
Review the Bingo Licence Terms and Conditions and complete the Bingo Licence Application form and submit it to the Lottery Licencing Officer. |
Raffle Licences |
Review the Raffle Licence Terms and Conditions and complete the Raffle Licence Application form and submit it to the Lottery Licencing Officer. |
Break Open Tickets |
Review the Break Open Ticket Licence Terms and Conditions and complete the Break Open Ticket Licence Application form and submit it to the Lottery Licencing Officer. |
Blanket Raffle Licences |
Review the Blanket Raffle Terms and Conditions and complete the Blanket Raffle Licence Application form and submit it to the Lottery Licencing Officer. |
Lottery licences cost 3% of the total prize value.
Licences can be issued to charitable and non-profit charitable organizations as defined by the AGCO. Staff at the Town of Arnprior can assist organizations in determining if they qualify for a lottery licence.
To qualify for a lottery licence, an eligible organization must demonstrate that it exists to provide services in one of the following four charitable classes:

After you receive a lottery licence, you must complete a financial report form within 30 days of the event.
