Council Highlights for January 9th, 2023

Presentations

Council was presented with the Draft 2023 Budget, including, operation, capital, long-range forecast and reserve/reserve funds. The draft budget includes a proposed 2.5% municipal tax rate increase (MTRI) for 2023, as well as 31 proposed Capital Projects valued at over $6.9 million. 

By-laws

Several by-laws were passed including the adoption of an interim tax levy, the appointment of the Mayor as the County Councillor Alternate and the appointment of members to the Arnprior Public Library Board.

Information

Residents were reminded that the Optimist Winter Carnival will be running from January 16^th to 22^nd. Town Outdoor Rinks are being prepared for the upcoming season but to please stay off them until they are officially opened.  More information can be found on the Town’s website.
