Wintermission returns this year to Arnprior as the Recreation Department has compiled a vast directory of activities to keep you moving. This campaign fosters a healthy social, mental and physical lifestyle during a time when people are less active and feeling the ‘winter blues.’
Wintermission is a one-stop-shop of information on Town run programs and events while also highlighting what other businesses and organizations are doing in our community. You can learn how you can embrace the outdoors by trying a new activity or learning how easy it is to access recreation equipment and services in our area.
Of notable events, the Optimist Winter Carnival headlines January while February hosts two events with the newly created Sunday Snow Day and the popular, FamFest.
The highly demanded Walk the Halls program is back with free indoor walking at the High School and Nick Smith Centre through the winter. Thanks to our generous community sponsors, there are free skates throughout the holiday break with skates and helmets to borrow for free as part of our Lending Hub program.
Many regular recreation programs continue this season with a new Youth Club as well as various youth courses to register for. Our drop-in sports and other adult/senior programs are set for January and continue weekly well past the cold months.
Become more familiar with our outdoor amenities including our parks, trails, and outdoor rinks. Discover what other recreational facilities and programs are offered at local ski hills and curling clubs as well as what businesses and organizations can service you in 2024.
Wintermission is designed to keep you happy and healthy, even when it’s cold out. Take the time to try something new, visit new places, or refine your skills this winter. To see full campaign details, visit www.arnprior.ca/wintermission
