For a second straight year, the Veleke Family have won the Town of Arnprior’s Christmas Lights Contest. Christal and Aaron Veleke’s home on Arthur Street once again presents a class light display that not only wraps around their home, but encompasses their entire back yard making the most of their corner-lot property.
“This home is becoming a must see in our community over the Christmas season,” said Graeme Ivory, Director of Recreation. “Had I known their display would be taken to greater heights this year, I would have run another contest for the public to guess how many Christmas lights were featured throughout their display – simply incredible.”
After finishing third in the inaugural year of the contest in 2019, the Veleke’s continue to go all-out for the holidays.
Dennis Schnob’s home at 254 Allan Drive captured second spot for a second straight year after winning the contest in 2019. Once again the Schnob home remains a must-see for everyone. Josh Chamberlain’s home on Tom Gavinski Drive also embraced the Christmas spirit and claimed third prize.
“Taking the Christmas Lights Tour in Arnprior is really catching on,” Ivory added. “Beyond those that participated in the contest, many residents have gone the extra mile this holiday season.”
The top three winners will each receive Live Love Local gift certificates. $150 for 1st place, $100 for 2nd place and $75 for 3rd place. These gift certificates can be used at more than 60 local businesses.
