Residents are advised to plan ahead for the possibility of significant traffic delays or disruptions surrounding the 2022 Freedom Convoy of trucks anticipated to arrive in the Antrim Truck Stop area of Arnprior on Friday starting around 4:00pm with an anticipated departure for Ottawa around 11:00am on Saturday, January 29.
Beginning 4:00pm on Friday the OPP will begin erecting barricades and closing sections of Daniel St / White Lake Road between Baskin Drive and Campbell Drive, as well as Bev Shaw Parkway from White Lake Road to Baskin Drive, to emergency vehicles and participants in the demonstration only. Detour routes following Campbell Drive, Pine Grove Road and County Road 10 (Baskin Drive West) will be in effect. Closures are anticipated to end at midnight. While the demonstrators are travelling on route to their destinations, roadways and highways are expected to experience traffic delays and disruptions. Additional lane closures are anticipated the following morning to prioritize truck access to Highway 417. Additional information will be relayed to residents and businesses as it becomes available.
