Arnprior, ON: Arnprior Town Council approved its 2024 Budget at the February 12, 2024 Regular Meeting of Council following public consultations on December 6, 2023, tabling of the budget on January 8, 2024 and budget deliberations on February 5, 2024.
The 2024 Budget is designed to meet our service delivery and asset renewal requirements for both our current and future population, in alignment with the Town’s Strategic Plan. Competing impacts of growth, inflationary pressures, and legislative decisions from other levels of government are all factors in the 2024 Budget which supports continuous infrastructure renewal.
Mayor Lisa McGee stated “Balancing the impacts of today with the needs of tomorrow is a challenging goal. This budget finds that balance of service delivery, community support, infrastructure renewal and saving for the future.”
The 2024 Budget is to be adopted with a 2.5% municipal tax rate increase, supported by the Town’s strong commitment to our “pay-as-you-go” financial model. This increase not only generates additional contributions to reserves to help support the Town’s strategic goals for asset management but supports community grants including the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation’s CT Scanner fundraising campaign and additional staffing supports at the Arnprior Public Library.
A number of important capital projects will be initiated in 2024 including:
