Following a robust recruitment process, the Town of Arnprior is pleased to announce the hiring of Shelley Mackenzie to the position of Town Clerk. Shelley will join the municipality on June 6, 2023.
Shelley comes to the Town of Arnprior with a breadth of municipal experience having served a number of departments in an administrative capacity in her time with the Town of Carleton Place and the Town of Perth. Shelley also has prior experience with Community Living Association and the Upper Canada District School Board. Shelley brings with her excellent client service capabilities, involvement with records management, policy development, elections and being a Commissioner of Oaths.
A graduate of Algonquin College’s Executive Office Administration program, Shelley has also completed the Municipal Administrative Program (MAP) and the Municipal Clerks Institute (MCI) Level I through the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO).
Shelley’s appointment is aligned with the current Town Clerk Maureen Spratt’s retirement, which will be effective June 30, 2023. Spratt has served Arnprior as Town Clerk since 2012.
“On behalf of the Town, I want to thank Maureen for the knowledge and expertise she has demonstrated in her role as Clerk. All staff and Council greatly appreciate her guidance and wish her the best in her well-deserved retirement,” said Chief Administrative Officer, Robin Paquette. “I also want to congratulate Shelley on her appointment and look forward to working with her in her new role.”
