Happy New Year, Arnprior!
Our Recreation Department has been hard at work making sure you have plenty of ways to stay active this winter. From a new aquatics season, to sport leagues and Wintermission, there’s plenty going on!

Back for another year, Wintermission is your one-stop-shop of all things winter in Arnprior. Learn about community events, free programs, recreational offerings, and local outdoor spaces and services being offered in our community.

Get Outdoors!
Please be patient as we work on our outdoor rinks this winter. As we are at the mercy of Mother Nature, we ask that you respect signage and rules when using these facilities. The Sullivan Rink of Dreams and Sergeant Howard Slater Park will be prioritized with Caruso Park rink created shortly after.

Events
The winter staple, Optimist Winter Carnival, returns with a full slate of programs. Visit their Facebook page to learn more about dog sledding, air bounce activities, family entertainment and so much more!
Youth Cub
After a successful launch, Youth Club returns in 2024 with two seasons, January-May and September-December. Both seasons follow a rate of $10 per month that provides all access to Youth Nights, Jr. Youth Nights, Craft Programs, Monthly Skates, Sledge Hockey and two special events. The Afterschool Program continues at a subsidized rate of $3.00 per day.

Youth and Preschool Programs
New year, new programs! New sessions of the popular Drama Lab and Young Actors Academy restart on January 9th while Introduction to Electronic Music also returns in the new year.
You don’t have to be a Youth Club member to come to the Youth Nights and Craft Programs, but it certainly helps. Check out the full list of programs by visiting our online registration.
Aquatics
It’s registration week! Here’s all the dates you need to know with each day opening at 9am:
Before you go to register, log in to your account and make sure your information is up to date. Check on your residency, finance info, and make sure you can find the courses you want to register for. Health & Wellness Programs
The joint program with the Arnprior Family Health Team, Conditioning and Balance, starts a new session the week of January 8th and you can still join in. Learn more online or contact the Nick Smith Centre to register.
Quiet the mind and ease the soul with Crystal McLeod and the Meditation and Mindfulness program on Wednesday evenings. Register for the session or drop-in with Crystal.
Walk the Halls is back! Get your steps in with us at ADHS or the Nick Smith Centre. Visit www.Arnprior.ca/walking to view the schedule and register for the program.
Arenas, Shinny, Skating
Looking to rent ice? Check out the ice availability page of our website to see what might work for you.
Looking for extra hockey or ringette practice, or just to go for a skate? View our drop-in times online to see when you can hit the ice. We offer Minor Shinny (ages 9-12), Junior Shinny (ages 13-15), Ringette Shinny (ages 10-15), Adult Shinny (16+), Women’s Shinny (16+). Full equipment is required for all shinny’s and participants must sign-in and pay at the front desk.
In addition to our regular public skates we have Toonie Skates over lunch hour during the week and a free Parent with Tots & Seniors Skates daily during the week from 1-2pm. Note: Parent with Tots & Seniors Skates and Toonie Skates will not run during the holiday break (December 27 – January 5). Please note that helmets are required on skaters aged 12 and under. Strollers are permitted on the ice as long as the wheels are cleaned and the child is wearing a helmet.

Packers and Rivermen
Our local hockey teams, the Arnprior Packers and Arnprior Rivermen are well underway in their seasons. Check out their home game schedules and come out to support some great local hockey.
