Arnprior, ON – It is with heavy hearts that the Town of Arnprior, Council and staff learned of the recent passing of Kevin MacDonald in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Kevin served as Mayor of the Town of Arnprior between 1994 and 1997 and as a Councillor between 1991 and 1994. He represented the Town and its priorities and always had the Town and community’s best interests at heart.
His contributions to the Arnprior community stretched beyond the Town itself through volunteerism with the Arnprior Curling Club and the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital. In addition, Kevin co-founded the Ottawa Valley Music Festival which was a summer-long celebration of classical music from across the Ottawa Valley and which ran for over twenty-five (25) years.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Yvette (née Ward) MacDonald, and their three sons: Charles of Washington DC, his wife, Lisa (née Soccol) MacDonald, and their son, Jesse; Ward of Port Williams, Nova Scotia, his wife, Christine (née Frail) MacDonald, and their two daughters, Aria and Aries; and Andrew of Ottawa, his wife, Fariba (née Zamani) MacDonald, his son, Steven, and their daughter, Sara Soulati.
A celebration of life will be held in the future and condolences may be shared through his obituary.
