Job Type: Part-time, Fixed Term (July 25 - August 29 - 5 week term)
Hours: 24 hours per week/4 days per week (must be available to work Saturday Aug 27)
Wage: $15.53 per hour
The Town of Arnprior is hosting a multi-cultural night market that will feature food vendors and artisans from various ethnicities creating an opportunity for attendees to become more acquainted with neighbours and the diverse cultural backgrounds they come from. The Town is looking for assistance in providing this event.
Working with the Marketing and Economic Development Officer and the Event Manager, the Part-Time Night Market Coordinator will assist in the administration and execution of the following (duties to include but not limited to):
- Event marketing – execution of event marketing plan
- Event pageantry – execution of plan for event pageantry and decor
- Market vendors – liaison to market vendors
- Administration and documentation - as necessary to meet grant reporting criteria
- Day of event execution – event load-in, on–site vendor liaison, event load-out
- Day of event volunteer liaison
- Other duties (as needed) to support the success of the event
The successful candidate will have, as a minimum, the following qualifications:
- Enrollment in or completion of an Event Management program (Preferred)
- Ability to obtain a clear Vulnerable Sector Check
- Demonstrated experience working in a team environment
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanour at all times when dealing with clients, staff, volunteers and the general public
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work with all age groups (Children, Adults, Seniors, etc.)
- Physically capable to perform general labour and maintenance duties
- Capable of following safe work practices and procedures
Assets
- Previous experience executing a marketing plan
- Photography skills
