New Digital Exhibit Now Available Online

The Arnprior and District Museum is proud to announce the launch of “Unravelling the Yarn - The Textile Industry in Arnprior”. We invite you to share in Arnprior's legacy and witness the growth of a town with the launch of a new virtual exhibit developed with funding from the Digital Museums Canada investment program. 

The textile manufacturing industry in Arnprior was established in the mid-19th century and, for 150 years, employed many of the town’s men and women. This digital exhibition looks at the industry’s importance to the town’s development, with a focus on Kenwood Mills as a progressive workplace that kept Arnprior going during the Great Depression. 

The exhibit will be available through the Digital Museums Canada website on Thursday July 21^st, 2022. A link will be provided through the museum’s webpage at www.arnprior.ca/museum.   

About The Arnprior and District Museum:

Located in the c 1898 Thomas Fuller Post Office building with the distinctive clock tower in the heart of downtown Arnprior, Ontario, the museum’s exhibits and collections offer a walk through Arnprior's rich and colourful history. 

The building was nearly demolished, but was saved through the foresight of David and Jessie Gillies, who offered it to the town for use as a museum and library as part of a centennial project in 1967.
