National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Commemoration

September 26, 2022 - The Council of the Corporation of the Town of Arnprior does hereby commit to recognizing September 30th, 2022, as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Orange Shirt Day) with a flag raising and the unveiling of a commemorative bench at Town Hall on Monday, September 26^th at 12:00 noon in support of and to promote education and awareness of National Day of Truth and Reconciliation (Orange Shirt Day). 

It is our hope that residents take the time during this week to reflect, acknowledge, and honor the bravery and resilience of residential school survivors, their families and their communities. 

On Friday, September 30^th, the flag will be lowered to half-staff in recognition of National Truth and Reconciliation Day. 

We encourage you to wear orange to the flag raising (September 26) and on National Truth and Reconciliation Day (September 30).
