Effective January 5th, 2022 at 12:01 a.m. the Ontario government is temporarily moving to Modified Step Two of the Roadmap to Reopen (Ontario Temporarily Moving to Modified Step Two of the Roadmap to Reopen.) The Town continues to maintain essential services and monitor the situation with guidance from the Health Unit and other levels of government. Essential services including administration, building and planning, garbage/recycling collection, landfill, fire response, water/sewer, and winter road maintenance continue to operate.
The Nick Smith Centre and the Arnprior and District Museum will be closed to the public effective January 5th. Program registration, planned to commence on January 5th, will be delayed until further notice.
Please note that the Arnprior Public Library will remain open at 50% capacity, and patrons are asked to limit the length of their visits. The library will also continue to offer curbside service for pickups and printing. All programming has been cancelled and some will become virtual. Please continue to monitor the website for updates at https://www.arnpriorlibrary.ca/.
With the colder weather, Staff are beginning the process of flooding our outdoor rinks. Limitations on use will be posted at the sites and we ask the public’s patience and compliance with the requirements. We also ask that you stay off the rinks until they are fully prepared for use. Please note that the Lending Hub for outdoor recreation equipment is being offered at this time during regular hours. For more information, please visit the website at https://www.arnprior.ca/en/recreation-and-culture/lending-hub-equipment.aspx
At this time, we will continue to serve clients at the front counter of Town Hall at 105 Elgin Street West during regular business hours. If possible, to reduce contact, payments can be done online, dropped off in the afterhours drop box, or Pre-Authorized Payments can be arranged.
Some staff may be working remotely; however, they will be available via telephone or email. In person meetings with staff are discouraged at this time. Council and other meetings will be held virtually until at least April 1, 2022.
Mayor Stack stated, “We continue to monitor the situation and provide updates to our residents. The Town’s priority continues to be ensuring everyone’s wellness and safety, including our staff and the public.”
The Town strongly encourages our residents to continue taking every precaution in protecting themselves by following health guidelines – wear a mask, limit your contacts, wash your hands, maintain physical distancing, and stay home if sick or identified as a close contact.
Please monitor the Town’s website, social media and the Town app for further updates and important communications. For all other COVID-19 related links and resources for both residents and businesses, please visit the Town’s COVID-19 webpage www.arnprior.ca/covid.
