Shinny Memberships
Effective June 1, shinny participants are required to complete an annual waiver which is part of Shinny Membership. This includes all youth shinny (hockey and ringette), as well as adult and seniors shinny participants. Two waivers have been established: one designated for individuals under the age of 16, which a legal guardian must complete, titled "Waiver and Release Form - Shinny for Under 16," and another tailored for adults aged 16 and above, termed "Waiver and Release Form - Shinny for 16 and Over."
By having the Shinny Membership, this ensures that:
Completion of the necessary waivers by all participants.
Streamlined online registration process facilitating the collection of corresponding fees tailored to age and residency.
Regular updates to the database regarding shinny session times, schedule modifications, and related information provided by staff.
Expedited entry into shinny sessions, with all requisite waivers and accounts established in advance, ensuring efficiency and convenience for all involved parties.
This new requirement requires approximately five minutes, and we strongly advise completing the waiver beforehand ensuring prompt access to your ice time. Note that Nick Smith Centre employees are unable to complete waivers on behalf of participants due to the legal nature of the waiver.
Upon successful completion of the waiver, participants regain access to the online registration system for Shinny sessions, our quickest sign-up option. Alternatively, those opting for in-person registration at the front desk should anticipate a slight extension in processing time.
There is no cost to the shinny membership.
This process helps support the paperless operation of this program and supports the Town of Arnprior’s commitment to responsible environmental stewardship and resource management.
