The Town of Arnprior recently welcomed some new equipment to its arenas thanks to the generosity of the Capital Asphalt & Interlock family!
Capital Asphalt & Interlock, a local and family-owned business, celebrating over 30 years of quality workmanship for Arnprior and area, sponsored the purchase of nine new skating aids supporting the children of our community as they take their first steps on the ice and learn the skill of skating.
“Our inventory of skating aids was getting depleted, and we were approached by the Capital Asphalt & Interlock family with the generous offer to have these supports purchased to the benefit of our community and for that we are very grateful” said Graeme Ivory, Director of Recreation for the Town of Arnprior. “Our public skating numbers are nearing capacity most days and we have plenty of schools booking ice time for their students – all of whom are benefitting from this new equipment, not to mention enjoying the awesome new colours of these skating aids.”
To celebrate the kick-off to the Family Day long weekend, this Friday’s Public Skate (February 16) is sponsored by Capital Asphalt & Interlock providing free access to the public from 6-7pm (Note: Capacity is limited to the first 80 skaters). Following the Public Skate, the Arnprior Packers host the Richmond Royals at 7:30pm in their penultimate game of the regular season.
The free program for the Community continues on Family Day, February 19, as the Town’s FamFEST celebrations provide free programming and activities all day at the Nick Smith Centre featuring the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast, public swimming, public skating, family entertainment and the final regular season game for Arnprior Packers ahead of the playoffs.
