Arnprior, ON – At a special Meeting of Council held on March 4th, 2025, Council declared a council seat as vacant following the resignation of Councillor Billy Denault, recently elected as MPP for the riding of Renfrew-Nippissing-Pembroke. Council discussed the options for filing the vacant seat and following a motion to fill by direct appointment by Council, appointed former councillor Ted Strike to the position.
Mayor Lisa McGee stated “I was pleased that someone with experience as former Public Works Director and then long-term councillor, such as Ted, was interested in filling the seat for the rest of this Council term. Ted currently sits on the Town’s Committee of Adjustment, as well as the Environment Advisory Committee, showing his continued commitment to serving the residents of the Town of Arnprior. We look forward to welcoming him back to the table.”
Councillor Strike will take the oath of office on Monday March 10th, 2025.
