Award WPCC SCADA PLC 5 Migration Project
Council received a staff report and passed a by-law to award the project contract to Capital Controls and Instrumentation Inc. in the amount of $180,561.00. Authorized in the 2024 Capital Budget, this project will allow for the purchase, installation and migration of the existing PLC 5 systems at the Water Pollution Control Centre to a new ControlLogix PLC system.
Zoning By-Law Amendment No. 5/24 (107 Baskin Drive East)
Council received the application for Zoning By-Law Amendment No. 5/24 to amend the zoning of the subject lands known municipally as 107 Baskin Drive East from Airport Development (“A-D”) to Employment (“EMPL”) designation. A public meeting will be held regarding this application at the November 12th, 2024 Regular Meeting of Council.
Parkland Conveyance By-Law
Council received a staff report with a draft Parkland Conveyance By-Law for comments. The proposed by-law sets out lands that are suitable for parkland conveyance and lands that will not be accepted as part of the required parkland conveyance. The by-law will come forward for Council consideration and passing at the October 28th, 2024 Regular Meeting of Council.
Community Safety and Wellbeing Plan
Council adopted the Town’s Community Safety and Well-Being Plan which is our roadmap to work collaboratively to remove barriers and improve access to the social determinants of health and well-being so that every community member can realize their unique talents and potential in a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment. This plan will serve as a guide for the municipality and our partners as we work towards Council’s vision “to become a sustainable and welcoming community that respects its rich history while actively building a brighter future together”.
Municipal Grant Application – Arnprior and District NeighbourLink Fountain
Council approved a support funding request for Arnprior and District NeighbourLink Fountain in the amount of $3,000.00 and also approved waiving fees for fifteen (15) landfill vouchers. The Arnprior & District NeighbourLink Fountain has operated in the Town of Arnprior since 2003 as a community life centre and provides a resource centre, weekly meals (including frozen take home meals), thrift store and other connections to available services / programs in the community.

Resolutions:
Council passed a resolution to support the Town’s application to the Ontario Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund (CSRIF) for the Nick Smith Centre Revitalization Project. The Nick Smith Centre Revitalization Project will provide accessibility enhancements to the ice surface, benches, spectator stands and viewing areas of the facility; and provide additional programming space and meeting rooms for recreation and sports groups.
