Adoption of Zoning By-Law Amendment No. 2/22 (24 Sheffield Street)
Town Council adopted the Zoning By-Law Amendment related to a proposed condominium project at 24 Sheffield Street. The amendment rezones the subject lands to increase the balcony encroachment into the front yard setback from 1.5 m to 1.7 m and to increase the maximum height from 10.5 m to 17 m with an added provision requiring any height above 13.5 m to be stepped back an additional 2.7 m from the edge of building roof.
Adoption of New Development Charges By-Law
Council adopted a new Development Charges By-Law No. 7369-23 which sets the development charges applicable for new development within the Town of Arnprior. More information is available at www.arnprior.ca/dc-review.
Delegations and Presentations
The Greater Arnprior Community Council on Poverty and Homelessness (GACCPH) and Arnprior Fire Department provided updates to Town Council on their activities over the last year.
New Swimming Pool By-Law
Council received a staff report from the Chief Building Official regarding a revised Swimming Pool By-Law that was also approved by Council. The updates modernized the by-law’s language, recognized new materials and techniques and ensured consistency with the Town’s Comprehensive Zoning By-Law.
Council Remuneration
Council received a staff report from the Manager of Finance / Deputy Treasurer regarding the remuneration paid to Members of Council and Local Boards in 2022.
Renfrew Pool Agreement
Council received a staff report from the Director of Recreation Services regarding the proposed Aquatic Services Billing Agreement with the Town of Renfrew. The proposed agreement provides Renfrew residents with Arnprior’s in-town rate for use of the swimming pool and aquatic programs, with the Town of Renfrew providing the Town of Arnprior with the difference between the in-town and out-of-town rates.
Municipal Grants Application – 2023 Renfrew County 55+ Seniors Games
Under the Municipal Grants Policy, Council authorized the waiving of rental fees for the 2023 Renfrew County 55+ Seniors Games activities at the Nick Smith Centre. Two events will take place at the Nick Smith Centre: Carpet Bowling (May 17, 2023) and Pickle Ball (May 23 and 24, 2023).
