Mayor McGee, on behalf of Council, presented a retirement gift to Town Clerk Maureen Spratt in recognition of her 29 years with the Town. Council and staff thank Maureen for her dedication to the Town and wish her all the best.
Council received a presentation outlining the public engagement underway regarding the Recreation and Parks Master Plan. Community Engagement Surveys are open to the public until July 9th, 2023 and everyone is encouraged to complete one of the surveys found on the Town’s ZenCity Engagement Platform. Residents are also invited to a virtual Public Open House being held on Wednesday, June 28 starting at 6:30pm (via Zoom).
At the last meeting of Council, Arnprior McNab Ringette Association had requested Council consideration of their fee structure. On June 26th, staff presented Council with a report outlining options to address the request however no amendments were approved. Council directed staff to review the impacts of the current fees in one year’s time.
Council reviewed a report outlining revisions to the Council Code of Conduct and adopted the revisions through By-law No. 7401-23.
Council authorized the Mayor and Clerk to enter into a Subdivision Agreement for the Baskin Drive Subdivision (47-T-19004) which will permit the development of 80 units (24 townhouse and 56 apartments) on an internal road to commence construction once the agreement and Plan of Subdivision are registered.
Council received a report outlining an application received for Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments for two vacant properties fronting on Winners Circle. The amendments would re-designate and rezone the subject properties to permit a retirement home as a permitted residential use in the Mixed Use Commercial/ Employment Designation and Mixed Use Commercial/Employment (MUCE) zone. Council will hold a public meeting on Monday, August 28, 2023, regarding the proposed amendments, to allow for public review and comment.
Council awarded an assignment for the design and engineering of the MacDonald Street and Edey Street Reconstruction to Jp2g Consultants Inc, at a cost of $163,519.48.
Council approved a request from the Terry Fox Foundation to provide in-kind support through waiving of the rental fees for the Robert Simpson Park Gazebo for their Terry Fox Run event to be held on September 17th, 2023.
