A public meeting was held to hear public comments regarding a proposed amendment to the Town’s Zoning By-law related to a proposed condominium project at 24 Sheffield Street. The application seeks to rezone the subject lands to increase the maximum height from 10.5 m to 17 m, and increase the balcony encroachment into the front yard setback from 1.5 m to 1.7 m. Staff will report back to Council on March 13th, 2023 with a recommendation on the zoning by-law amendment.
Council adopted the Communications Plan prepared by Redbrick Communications for use as a long-range tool to guide and inform communication efforts over the next three years and asked that staff bring forward a Communications Plan Progress Report to Council yearly.
Council received an annual report regarding the Town’s Drinking Water Quality Management System Audits, as well the Annual 2022 Reports on the Arnprior Water Pollution Control Centre and the Arnprior Drinking Water System. These reports are available on the Town’s website.
Council supported the humanitarian efforts of the Canadian Red Cross with a $1000.00 donation to the Canadian Red Cross Earthquake in Türkiye & Syria Appeal.
Councillors Billy Denault and Tom Burnette were appointed to the Arnprior Airport Commission, while County Councillor Dan Lynch was appointed as the Council member of the Town’s Committee of Adjustment / Property Standards Committee. Members of the Public are welcome to indicate their interest in sitting on this committee until March 6h, 2023.
Mayor Lisa McGee will speak at the Greater Arnprior Chamber of Commerce (GACC)’s annual Mayor’s Breakfast on March 9th, 2023 at the Arnprior Legion. Mayor McGee will be joined by Mayor Mark MacKenzie of McNab/Braeside Township and Leah Levesque, President & CEO of Arnprior Regional Health. Tickets are $12 for members and $15 for non members. Those interested in attending can RSVP to info@gacc.ca with how many tickets you would like by Friday, March 3rd, 2023.
