Janneka Beeksma spoke to Town Council about the need for local siting protocols when future cell tower applications are made within the Town of Arnprior. Town Council directed staff to review the issue and report back to Council at a later date.
After receiving a staff report on the matter, Council adopted a revised ‘Schedule K- Recreation Facility Use & Programs’ to the User Fees and Charges By-Law to implement non-resident user fees and to implement policies and procedures for a costing model for hybrid user groups rates (those with between 25% and 74% Arnprior residents).
Town Council approved a request from the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) to enforce off-leash dog restrictions on private property in the Gillies Grove Nature Reserve.
Town Council approved proclamations for the following important dates:
Council approved municipal grant applications to provide support funding to the Arnprior and District NeighbourLink Fountain and to waive the rental fees for the Arnprior Optimistic Womens’ Club’s Trivia Night event.
Council also adopted a resolution of support for the Town of Essex, calling on the Province of Ontario to restore pre-2017 legislation allowing municipalities to retain the proceeds of municipal tax sales upon request.
