Council Highlights - February 26th, 2024

Council Composition Review

Council had asked staff to prepare a report regarding a review of council composition and representation at the County of Renfrew. A survey of Council will be undertaken with results reported back to Council shortly. Should Council wish to consider potential changes to the current composition, a Public Meeting will be held for feedback. Watch the Town’s website for more information.

Development Charges Redevelopment Program

Council authorized the implementation of a Development Charges Redevelopment Program which increases the timelines to be eligible for a redevelopment credit, from 60 months to 96 months, for redevelopment of non-residential sites who applied for site plan approval and/or building permits after January 1, 2020 but before December 31, 2024. Development Charges – Early Payment Agreement – 12 Thomas St.

Council authorized a by-law for an early payment agreement with Ottawa Valley Developments Inc. for development charges payable for 12 Thomas St, Building #1.

Resolutions

Council supported a request by Princiotta Management Inc. for a one-year extension to the draft approval of the Baskin Drive Draft Plan of Subdivision (47-T-19004).
