The Downtown Core in Arnprior is designated a Heritage Conservation District. Heritage districts are areas with buildings and landscape with cultural heritage features. These features create a sense of place in the district. Municipalities can designate heritage conservation districts under the Heritage Act.
The Downtown Heritage District Conservation Plan encourages development that respects architectural character and scale of the streetscape. The Plan encourages the restoration of buildings. Removal or alteration of original architectural features is discouraged.
