Waterfront Revitalization Project Underway Temporary Trail Closures Over Next 6 Weeks

The first project of the Town’s Waterfront Master Plan is underway with the revitalization of the waterfront trail (Gillies Trail) from Madawaska Street to Robert Simpson Park. Over the course of the next six weeks, temporary trail closures will be in place as work is being completed. The public are asked to adhere to all signage and stay out of restricted areas during this temporary service disruption to our waterfront space.

Recently, the Town of Arnprior has received a number of reports that an aggressive water filtration sales company is distributing misleading “scratch and win lottery tickets” to residents through the mail and through telephone calls with residents. The tickets always win an un-disclosed prize and instruct the winner to call a phone number to claim the prize. Today, Enbridge Gas Inc. (Enbridge Gas) and the Arnprior Fire Department announced they are working together to improve home safety and bring fire and carbon monoxide-related deaths down to zero.
Arnprior Fire Department received 162 combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms through Safe Community Project Zero–a public education campaign with the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council (FMPFSC) that will provide more than 10,000 alarms to residents in 50 municipalities across Ontario.

Town Completes Expansion to Library Building

The Town of Arnprior, in partnership with the Arnprior Public Library (APL), has completed the construction of the “Scharf Hall Room,” an expansion to the library building, as well as improvements to the outdoor area. The Town is grateful for having received a non-repayable contribution of $368,345 from the Government of Canada, through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), to undertake this project.
