Work Location: Public Works Garage (73 James St.)
Reports to: General Manager Operations
Salary: Grade 11 ($71,443 to $84,038); Additional On-Call Pay approximately $6,000 to $8,000 annually; plus a comprehensive benefits package.
Job Summary: Under the general direction of the General Manager Operations, the Supervisor, Roads and Services assumes accountability for maintaining the Town’s infrastructure by managing the maintenance of road operations and programs including the maintenance of equipment, roadways (winter control and minimum maintenance standards), linear assets (water, sanitary and storm infrastructure), underground infrastructure utility locates, cemeteries, buildings and grounds. The role ensures that all Operations equipment pertaining to Road and Services are operating and maintained safely and effectively. The Supervisor, Roads and Services provides direct supervision and guidance to all the Road and Services Division staff, and in cooperation with the General Manager Operations, plans, prepares and enforces compliance with Town policies, and with maintenance and operating budgets.

Parks Maintenance

Work Location: Nick Smith Centre (77 James St.)
Reports to: Operations Supervisor
Hours: Average of 80 Hours bi-weekly (Monday through Sunday)
Hourly Wage: $23.10/hr (as set out by the CUPE Local 4960 Agreement)

The Parks Maintenance position is seasonal, full-time hours from May 1st through to October 31st. The position reports directly to the Operations Supervisor within the Operations Department. The position will ensure the Town’s Parks and related facilities are operated in a secure and safe manner by performing maintenance, inspections, and general housekeeping and upkeep duties including cutting grass, gardening, set up/tear down of events, and cleaning of Town-owned parks and recreational facilities. This position plays a key role by assisting the Operations Supervisor with daily guidance and direction to the summer Parks attendants, Waterfront Labourer, and Marina Dockhand staff.

The Marina Dock Hand & Gasoline Attendant is a temporary seasonal full-time position reporting directly to the Operations Supervisor within the Operations Department. The Marina season commences in May until October and is subject to weather and water level conditions. The primary responsibilities include providing customer service to the general public and seasonal/transient users. The position will ensure the Town’s Marina facilities are operated in a secure and safe manner by adhering to Marina policy and procedures and maintaining the cleanliness of the grounds and buildings.
