 My Story, My Tatoo Exhibit

A Travelling Exhibit from the Wellington County Museum and Archives

Tattoos are living images that reveal important stories. My Story, My Tattoo features 32 photographs and stories of people and their amazing tattoos. The exhibit includes four audio stations (with eight audio interviews), six videos and 30 text panels.

Participants represent every walk of life – everyone from a cancer survivor to teachers and their students, a firefighter and a farmer. The participants range in age from 26 to 89 years and live throughout Wellington County.

All of the individuals were open and honest, and their stories and personalities are represented through this series of thought-provoking and colourful images. Chris Piccinetti, a Guelph photographer and graphic designer for the County of Wellington, photographed these inspiring images.

The venue is a large part of Arnprior History.  From 1877 to 1916 it was home to the family of Claude McLachlin.  He was the youngest son of Daniel McLachlin, a principal of McLachlin Brothers Lumber and Mayor of Arnprior.  He supported and  was involved with many community activities.  From 1916 to 1995, as Sacred Heart Convent, it was home to local Catholic school teachers from the Order of Sisters of Providence Saint Vincent de Paul.  From 1996 to present, it reverted back to a private residence,  currently utilized as a bed and breakfast  and social event venue.     140 years of Arnprior history!  A grand place to have tea with friends!
