150 Events Passport

For Canada’s 150th celebrations, the Town of Arnprior has compiled 150 events held throughout Arnprior in 2017. Residents and visitors are encouraged to pick up a passport at an event or one of the locations listed below and gather stamps at as many events as possible throughout the year. Upcoming events are listed below and more event specific details will be added as they become available. Remember to write your name and phone number on the front of your passport in case it becomes lost and for when you enter your passport into the participation draw.

Arnprior 150 Events Passports can be picked up at all events and these locations:

 Fishing Derby

Eastern Ontario’s premiere fishing derby for kids. In the two previous years we have had children participate from not only Arnprior, but Ottawa, Carleton Place, all over Renfrew county and all points in between.

Last year we gave away thousands of dollars worth of prizes and provided the kids with a free hot dog BBQ with drinks.

August 27th  Caitlin Stewart Highland Dance Competition

The competition starts at 8:30 am and runs until 3 – 4 pm. More than 100 dancers are expected to participate, coming from as far as Toronto. The competition is held each year in memory of organizers Renee Stewart’s daughter, Caitline who passed away after a car accident Nov. 2, 1998. Spectators are welcome, we look forward to seeing you there.

 Ottawa Valley Music Festival Celebration Concert

The Ottawa Valley Music Festival presents a Celebration Concert. The OVMF Chorus and professional orchestra will perform works including Mozart’s “Ave Verum Corpus”, Vivaldi’s “Gloria” and Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus”.  Join us Sunday, September 10th at 3:00pm for a musically moving celebration of the Ottawa Valley Music Festival’s 24 years! Tutti is an adult ladies vocal ensemble that loves to sing together. In fact this love of singing together is the genus of the name Tutti. Tutti is an Italian musical term meaning all or together. With Glowing Hearts: Canadian Women Singing Canadian Music is a concert featuring music written and/or performed by Canadian artists. What better way to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday than by listening to music made popular by Canadian artists. The concert will be an eclectic mix of songs representing Canadian artists from coast to coast to coast. The program will be chock-a-block full of favourites by Celine Dion, K. D. Lang, Gordon Lightfoot, Sarah McLachlan and many others.
