Join Ottawa Valley Theatre Kids as we explore the world of drama and the arts in a fun, camp environment at St. John XXIII Elementary School led by certified arts educators. In our half-day, Ages 5-8 camp, registrants will play drama games and prepare skits that allow them to experiment with different ways of telling stories and creating character, while gaining confidence in their performance. Campers in our Aged 9-12 program will discover the many different aspects of theatre as we take a short play from page to stage. Both weeks will also be full of camp games and team building tasks, arts and crafts, science demonstrations and music activities that will round out the camp experience. Whether campers have done drama before or it is completely new to them, we know that the skills and experiences gained will help them on stage and beyond!
Our Ages 5-8 camp will take place July 7-11 from 9am to 12pm at a cost of $145
Our Ages 9-12 camp will take place July 14-18 from 9 am to 3pm at a cost of $230
Both camps include the cost of a T-Shirt for participants to keep.
The Arnprior Public Library is always providing amazing programs to our community. Check out their website, www.arnpriorlibrary.ca to learn more about their services.
The Town of Arnprior is happy to launch a pilot program to provide those ages 11-13 the opportunity to be at summer camp in an elevated role, assisting the camp counsellors.
The CITs are a registrant of summer camp at a discounted rate of 50%. They are still the responsibility of our Camp Coordinators and Counsellors but put in a different environment than that of a camper. The CIT will assist the Camp Staff in preparring, leading, and organizing camp activities. In this role, they will learn valuable skills that will prepare them for life as a volunteer or staff including communication, problem solving, leadership, and more.
Your application does not guarantee your spot in camp. As this is a pilot program, we are not able to take every applicant and will evaluate the applications after May 1st to build the weekly lineup. Decisions will be made to try to give access to each applicant and provide fair and equitable opportunity.
Camp Wanna-GO, the Museum Camp, and the Sports Camp are all options for CITs.
